Eleanor Vincent’s memoir, Swimming with Maya, is a New York Times e-book bestseller. It describes the death of her 19-year-old daughter in a horse riding accident and the subsequent donation of Maya’s organs. Meeting the man who received Maya’s heart changes the course of the family’s grief. Her essays have appeared in Creative Nonfiction’s anthology, At the End of Life, and This I Believe: On Motherhood and her poems in The Napa Review, Five Fingers, and The Santa Barbara Review. She holds an MFA from Mills College and is currently working on an essay collection and a memoir.
